The congenital hearing loss or deafness can be diagnosed in newborns with no known risk factors for it. For these reasons, in all developed countries universal hearing screening programs are launched and screening is performed in maternity hospitals and maternity wards of medical facilities.
The hearing screening study is done using OAE technique.
Early idenfication of babies with hearing loss allows performing right treatment and timely intervention. The earlier the corrective measures are taken, the easier are the language acquisition and development of health speech.
